Facilities

With a 7 acre site, of which more than 40% is open space, the school is surrounded by the vibrant colours of lush tropical flora, and the deeply wooded hills of Balik Pulau. When fully subscribed, POWIIS will have capacity for up to 800 students.

The main building, which will house classrooms, language labs and nine specialised science laboratories, will also accommodate a lecture hall, discussion and tutorial rooms and the central School administration.

Linked to the south will be the library, music practice rooms and the superb 500-seat natural acoustic auditorium which will be one of the best performance spaces on the Island.

To the north a building which comprises the cafeteria on the ground floor; spacious design workshops and art rooms on the first floor, and a multipurpose hall on the 2nd floor.

The four halls of residence will accommodate up to 372 students, predominantly in double rooms, as well as the apartments for housemasters and housemistresses, the matron's room, and public rooms in which the students can relax and socialise.

A fitness suite, football field, basketball, netball and tennis courts and a six-lane 25 metre swimming pool complete the School facilities.
