Monthly Archives: March 2018
Some pictures from our Wizard of Oz production. Thank you to everyone who came and supported and to all the students and teachers who made the show such a success.
We have more photos to share in the weeks to come!
Last Friday, we held our swimming gala event. Well done to everyone who participated! A huge thank you to Mr Edwards for organizing the event and faculty who supported.
Congratulations to Somerset, our 2018 Swimming Gala champions!
Students from across each year group got the chance to participate in a fun and educational percussion workshop last Monday. The workshop was led by Andy Gleadhill from the UK.
With our Wizard of Oz production quickly approaching (in a week’s time to be exact) houses competed to see who could create the best Woz-ified house areas last week.
It was a close call between Rutland and Somerset, but Rutland was our champion with Somerset second and Durham third. Congratulations to the houses on a job well done! As a reward, the winners’ Woz-ified displays will be used in the foyer of the auditorium for everyone to take pictures with!
Congratulations to the Student Ball Committee (Yan Bin Phua, Henry Lim, Nicole Lee, Jing Zhou Ong, Karen Lu, Onishi Rei, Maxwell Ong and Lillian Balcarek) for organising a great evening of entertainment at the Evergreen Laurel Hotel, dancing and fun for over 200 POWIIS students.
Special thanks to: Christopher Lim, Pavithra Manivannan and Abu Hanif Haniz for photographs of the evening.
This week’s Tuesday Lunchtime Concert (TLC) was French themed! Our talented students and staff performed classic French tunes such as La Complainte de la Butte and La Mer.
We welcomed 4 Laos students Tinee, Emma, Almyra and Emmy to the POWIIS family as part of our Cultural Exchange Program. They will be with us until the 25th of March.
We are pleased to host professional development leaders from fellow FOBISIA schools at POWIIS today. Our year 7s provided a warm welcome.
