Monthly Archives: February 2019
A delegation of Year 12 and 13 students travelled to the NEXUS International school in Putrajaya to take part in a Model United Nations (MUN) conference this weekend (Feb 22 – Feb 24). They were challenged to question global issues and drafted resolutions on a variety of concerns including: disposing of chemical weapons, protecting the rights of minority groups, addressing drug addiction, curbing racism in the Middle East, and the trafficking of exotic animals. MUN ignites the intellectual curiosity of students and helps them become more academically and socially aware as they debate and seek solutions to these and other global issues.
The AIMS Secondary Orchestra and Choir took place at the International School @ Parkcity on 16th – 17th of Feb. We had 17 students (Years 7-13) joining other international schools from around Malaysia in an intense and productive weekend of rehearsals, culminating to a Gala Concert which was highly impressive.
Our students enjoy themselves tremendously and gained valuable experience performing in an 180-piece orchestra and choir set up. We are especially proud to highlight Drew Wong (Year 12) who was selected to be the Principal of the Second Violins while Khoo Shi Min (Year 11) took up position as Principal of the Cello section. Very well done to all!
The theme this year is “It’s all Greek to Me”. The 2019 FOBISIA Drama Festival will bring students through Greek plays with the performance of five Classical Greek texts, including ideas from renowned theatre practitioners and more.
