Eco Schools Bronze Award!

With Earthday just around the corner tomorrow, what better way to celebrate the Eco Committees’ success? POWIIS is very proud to announce that we have recently been awarded the Eco Schools Bronze Award! In order to receive this award status, we have put a number of measures in place at the school.

Some of these measures include:
– Setting up a new Eco Committee
– Conducting an environmental review of the school
– Setting out a series of plans in order for the school to work towards reducing its carbon footprint.
– Managing our waste and recycling as well as repurposing material
– Looking at our food waste and how we can reduce what is going to landfill
– Our goal is to be a zero waste site by 2023

We are very happy to receive this status and are now working towards receiving our silver award. This is the first part of our Eco journey so watch this space!
