Mr Matthew Eccles – Head of Boarding (Boys)

Mr Eccles grew up in Middlesbrough, UK and went on to study Mathematics with Statistics at Lancaster University achieving his Master in Science (MSci) Degree. He then went on to complete his Post Graduate Certificate of Education (secondary) at Cumbria University. Matt has been at POWIIS since 2014, bringing his vast experience from working at summer camps in the USA and being a scoutmaster in the UK to his role as first a boarding tutor and then subsequently Head of Boys’ Hall.

He is looking forward to continuing the development of boarding and ensuring that students truly have a second home at POWIIS. In addition to his roles in boarding and teaching, Matt is a football fanatic and has been heavily involved with coaching the school football teams since joining the school. He is looking forward to being able to get back on the field as soon as possible.
