POWIIS “Airport” by Reception students

18 February 2020

As part of their focus on ‘Transport’, the children in Reception worked collaboratively over a number of weeks to create POWIIS Airport. Using recyclable materials and their creative skills, the children made a large 3-D airplane, a body scanner, an x-ray machine and numerous suitcases. Developing their mark making and writing skills, the children in Reception also created all of the signage for the airport along with passports, luggage labels and boarding passes to support their role-play as they headed off on an exciting journey! During this process, the children discussed which country they were flying too and learnt about different countries around the world
