What is Drama?
It was Oscar Wilde that said, “I regard the theatre as the greatest of all art forms, the most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being.”
Drama is excellent for the imagination and the creative minds by allowing the students to think of new and exciting ideas. Drama helps promote empathy and understanding, which assists in students’ abilities to relate to different situations, backgrounds, and cultures; it encourages compassion and tolerance for others. Furthermore, drama allows students to express various emotions and encourages them to understand and how to deal with their feelings, more important now in the current situation than at any other time.
Over the years at POWIIS, the drama department has pushed boundaries of what the students can achieve and delivered some memorable performances. Some of these performances are shown here
