World Scholars’ Cup Couch Camp

Our new Junior World Scholars from Year 7 participated in the World Scholars’ Cup Couch Camp, an online iteration of the international academic competition. Despite having practiced for only two weeks, Tiffany Ang, Yi Sa Ee and Raghav Rao won 5th place overall team and 5th place in Team Debate out of 45 junior teams, or 135 scholars, from around the world. They gained a lot of confidence from this competition and are looking forward to the World Scholars’ Cup challenge when the programme returns to our Malaysian shores, hopefully this April.

POWIIS is the host of the Penang Malaysian Round of the World Scholar’s Cup and we hope our Year 7’s will build an excellent foundation for our future challenge in the tournament. Mr. Darren Lim, the World Scholar’s Cup Malaysian Round coordinator, wishes to congratulate them for their outstanding performance.
