Prior to the school closure, students in Year 8 spent the first half of term learning about the location, climate, and natural characteristics of equatorial rain forests environments. The study of these environments is particularly relevant to students in Malaysia – many of whom were unaware that they live in an equatorial climate, surrounded by natural rainforest vegetation.
Since moving to online lessons the students have begun to recognise the differences between places though investigating the global distribution of desert environments. As a pre-learning task students produced annotated world maps identifying the location, latitude and examples of world deserts.
